Venti di Cultura is a non-profit organization, established in 2006.
It promotes the value of cultural itineraries, aiming to show how land and water routes can help communities and territories to find their unity.
The cultural routes are designed together with institutions, local stakeholders, and testimonies of traditional art and craft. Venti di Cultura’s actions are funded by private and public partners and through international projects’ prizes. The results are made available in all sorts of multimedia products.
Venti di Cultura’s objectives and contents are inspired by the Council of Europe’s Faro Convention on the value of cultural heritage for society: we foster identity, collective memory and mutual understanding; the participation of citizens and local communities is crucial in building and enlarging the archives of the tangible and intangible heritage.
Our projects are national and international in scope. Cultural Routes collects and keeps on implementing: On the Wings of the Lion, a trail along the Adriatic coast; Cathedrals of the Sea, the industrial archeology facing the Italian shores; Venice Lagoon Heritage, an interpretive route in the mainland and in the islands aiming to establish a sustainable museum; The Archive of the Earthquake Villages’ Memory, which attemps to preserve the identity of the communities scattered throughout central Italy by the earthquake . Venti di Cultura is also part of various International Partnerships: we feel proud to contribute to the cultural contents of Culturnet, Garum, River of Opportunities, I_Improve, Finding Country as the Italian partner of a large European team and network.
